ABOUT US

In April 2008, Carol Banez, Teresita Bautista and May Amparado founded the Scarborough Ontario Seniors Association (SOSA). On May 23, 2008, SOSA was officially incorporated as a non-profit organization with the Ministry of Industry.
Since its inception, SOSA has provided many seniors a place to build new relationships, engage in activities and create community.

To become the gold standard seniors' association, fostering a vibrant, intergenerational community where every older adult is empowered

Development, implementation and evaluation of a senior's wellness program to maintain the physical, mental and emotional wellbeing of seniors.

Promotion of seniors' social well-being by participating and performing in cultural and social activities within the Filipino community and the community at large.

To sustain and provide healthy and joyful activities for seniors.

To reach out to new immigrants, isolated seniors, less fortunate seniors, to Filipino seniors and to the diverse GTA community.

To showcase SOSA’s instrumental music, choral and dancing talents locally and internationally.

To seek government funding opportunities to expand existing seniors' program.
