Marieta Resposo

Press Relations Officer

Born and raised in Mauban, Quezon, Malu Resposo and her four siblings were raised by their father, a grade school teacher and their mother, a housewife. Later, Malu pursued higher education by attending night classes at Philippine Women's University while working daytime at Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT).

After earning her bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Malu migrated with her husband in 1972 to Canada where she started to work at the bank of Nova Scotia. There Malu rose through the ranks and ended up as a Senior Operations Officer. In 2014, after four decades with the bank, she retired.

In 2011, Malu joined SOSA and currently serves as a Public Relations Officer.  Malu continues to stay active in all of SOSA’s activities, including group trips to Hawaii, Boston, the Canadian Maritimes as well as participating in the chorale and ukulele ensembles.

Now enjoying retirement with her husband, Malu loves cooking and baking for her only daughter and her husband when they come to visit. Malu is also a proud lola of two grade-school granddaughters. She putters around her miniature flower garden in front of her two-storey detached house and fusses over her vegetable patch in the back.

When she is not cooking, Malu enjoys relaxation-cum-fitness, attends Zumba and line-dancing sessions. To keep her mind sharp and active, Malu loves solving sudoku and word game puzzles anytime she can. “I don’t let idleness take ahold of my mind and body,” she says as she unfolds yet another fresh and unsolved sudoku puzzle.
