Rodolfo (Rudy) Hilado Pilla was born and raised in Fabrica, Sagay City, Negros Occidental with four older brothers and two older sisters. Rudy attended high school at Faraon Institute, Fabrica.

Rudy moved to Manila in 1966 and worked at IBM Budget Commission, Department of Education as a Computer Operator. In 1969, he worked at American International Underwriters (AIU) as a Liaison to IBM Budget Commission.

​

As a working student, he obtained his Bachelor of Science in Commerce at Adamson University (Manila) in 1971.  Rudy migrated to Canada in October 1971. He has worked in several companies, including Manulife - Head Office and Canada Wire as Computer Operator, as well as Shoppers Drug Mart-Head Office as P.C. Support. He took an early retirement from Shoppers Drug Mart in July 2010 in I.T. Procurement after 20 years of service.

Rudy joined SOSA in 2011 and has been elected twice as a Board of Director. He is always keen to promote healthy and active living, as well as friendship among the members.  He is a member of Knights of Columbus, Council # 7689 - St. Patrick’s Parish, Markham. His hobbies are playing chess, table tennis, travel, dance parties, and being with family and friends.

Rudy married in 1971 with one Daughter (Faythe Michelle) and 4 grandchildren (Asia -17 yrs. old; Nolan -15 yrs. old; Makena -13 yrs. old and the youngest is Bryn -11 yrs. old).
